Commission on Ethics & Public Trust Consistent with federal, state and local health advisories and restricted movement and group gathering orders in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, the Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics and Public Trust offices will be closed to the public through Friday, May 15, 2020. Ethics Commission staff is assigned to a teleworking schedule and is available as if offices were open, with the exception of in-person contacts. April Ethics Commission Meeting is cancelled As a health precaution, and to protect the public and our staff, the Ethics Commission will be canceling its April Commission meeting. Clean Campaign Class on March 24 The Clean Campaign Class on March 24 at the Village of Pinecrest is canceled until further notice. Miami-Dade Lobbyist Training The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is the Government’s leading public health institute. It is a federal agency under the Department of Health and Human Services. On March 15, 2020, the CDC issued an interim guidance alert regarding large events and mass gatherings that can contribute to the spread of COVID-19 in the United States. In its guidance statement, it has recommended that for the next 8 weeks, organizers should cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more. The Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics and Public Trust hosts monthly Ethics Training for County lobbyists and vendors as required by the County Ethics Code. These training sessions are regularly attended by more than 50 persons and are held in the County’s Board of County Commission Chambers or in the County’s Main Library Auditorium. As a health precaution, and to protect our trainees and staff, the Ethics Commission will be cancelling its scheduled Ethics Training for County lobbyists and vendors currently scheduled for two following dates at the end of March 2020.
